Joseph Armstrong, Ph.D., is the Executive Vice President of TCG GreenChem, serving as the Global Head of Research and Development and Head of Business Development for the US/EU. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder and completed his post-doctoral research at the University of Virginia.

As an accomplished chemist and leader in drug development at Merck & Co., he led the Process Research Development Team that designed, developed, and implemented manufacturing processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients. Later, he served as the Preclinical Sciences Lead, overseeing Safety Assessment, Process Research, Formulation, Drug Metabolism, and Phase I clinical trials.

Dr. Armstrong has an international reputation in chemistry, being the author of over 40 scientific publications, holding 12 patents, and delivering more than 70 invited presentations. His work has received recognition with the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award and the ACS 'Heroes of Chemistry' honor. With deep expertise in process chemistry and large-scale manufacturing, he acts as a scientific advisor to PTX and consults on drug scale-up, process development, and marketing.
