Chris Senanayake, Ph.D., is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive and process chemist with over 30 years of industry leadership. He earned his Ph.D. from Wayne State University and held senior roles at Dow Chemical, Merck, Sepracor, and Boehringer Ingelheim, where he served as Vice President of Chemical Development for 14 years. He later led AstaTech BioPharmaceutical Corporation as CEO before founding TCG GreenChem Inc. in 2019.

Renowned for bridging scientific insight with commercial strategy, Dr. Senanayake is celebrated for designing proprietary processes that enhance product value and competitive advantage. In recognition of his contributions, he received the prestigious Siegfried Gold Medal in 2008 for excellence in active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) development and process chemistry.

Dr. Senanayake has co-authored more than 500 scientific publications and holds over 15 patents. His work has contributed to the development of key therapeutics including Crixivan, Lunesta, Jardiance, and Desvenlafaxine. He holds adjunct professorships at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Toledo.
