In 2025, the American Cancer Society reports that prostate cancer continues to be the most common cancer among men in the U.S., with an estimated 313,780 new cases and 35,770 deaths (Cancer Facts & Figures, ACS 2025). Additionally, over 3.5 million men are living with prostate cancer in the U.S. (SEER*Explorer). While treatment options for patients with organ-confined prostate cancer have progressed, the 5-year survival rates remain challenged by treatment failures, resistance to systemic therapies, and disease progression, which contribute significantly to cancer-related deaths. Chemotherapy agents, including taxanes and PARP inhibitors, pose risks of dose-dependent hematological, cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological toxicities. To address these challenges, prostate cancer theranostics, particularly PSMA theranostics, are emerging. This precision medicine approach aims to enhance drug delivery specifically to PSMA-expressing prostate cancers while minimizing damage to non-cancerous tissues. Targeted radionuclide therapy, including radioligand therapy prostate cancer, offers the potential for improved clinical outcomes in patients by focusing treatment directly on the cancer cells.
At Prostate Theranostics (PTX), we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients with advanced prostate cancer through the development of prostate cancer theranostics, including innovative PSMA-targeted diagnostic technologies and radioligand therapy for prostate cancer. Our focus on PSMA theranostics allows us to deliver effective targeted radionuclide therapy tailored to individual patient needs.
